The Brief

A quiet, village location.

Having sold the family house and moved into rented accommodation, the aim was to find a house that was approximately 3,500 sq/ft, set in a couple of acres and preferably with a tennis court.  The geography ranged across Hampshire, Wiltshire and West Berkshire and a key concern was no road noise.  An active community was important as well.

How we helped

Refining the geography!

The first part of the search involved refining the search area, as we found interesting houses to the west and east only for our clients to realise they wanted to be closer to their old neighbourhood.  We saw a number of houses prior to them being marketed, including the house eventually bought.   The house was nearly perfect, but lacked some bedroom space.  We introduced an architect who specialised in historic houses, and with a positive reaction to a pre-app, successfully agreed a price for the house.

Our clients say

"We greatly valued George’s experience and knowledge – and his patience, as our search took longer than we had all hoped. It was worth the wait, though, and thanks to George’s involvement we were able to view our house before it went onto the open market, which put us in a good position for subsequent negotiations. We are delighted with the result."

George says

"I thoroughly enjoyed this search as we started with a wide geographic area, but relatively narrow search criteria. We reduced the area and having seen a good number of houses, some coming close, found our client a house which ticked almost all the boxes. It was a thorough and very rewarding process resulting in our clients being in for Christmas!"
